Our Program

Preschoolers are unique students and they learn in their own unique fashion. The Lighthouse Preschool program is designed to meet the individual needs of each child through active learning. Learning centers are available to individualize the learning experience for each student.

The children also participate in several activities during the day, including group time, creating art projects, block play, dramatic play, writing, math, science, and nature. Each child is encouraged to try every activity available to them each day.

Enrollment is open to all potty-trained children aged 3 to 4, regardless of church affiliation.

Lighthouse Preschool of the First Baptist Church of Mascoutah admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.

All activities and policies of the Lighthouse Preschool of the First Baptist Church of Mascoutah in accordance with our statement of faith found on the What We Believe section.

Our Curriculum

Lighthouse Preschool uses a curriculum based on the Illinois Early Learning Standards, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and clear biblical principles. Individual, as well as small and large group activities are presented to help the children explore their individual interests and foster physical, verbal, cognitive, social, and emotional development. Special activities and field trips enrich the core curriculum, and parents are given regular updates detailing the activities of the class.
